Being River is a contemporary dance piece, choreographed by Zhi Xu that explores the intersection between the real world and virtual reality.
 
I worked with Zhi Xu as Creative Technologist, bringing together a large group of people, technologies, and different disciplines. I sewed them together to work seamlessly in the performance.
 
My main contribution was the AV install and lightning design, and technical operation.
As we had multiple source creative visuals being used simultaneously, it was my job to create and run a small media hub that all inputs, such as unreal engine motion tracking, VR and creative coding, could be sent to as the final output. These sources were then sent out to a projector, as well as controlling each input through the performance.
 
As well as this I put together the lighting design based of Zhi Xu's ideas and needs, and operated the lighting.
